Natural Mumma's Organic Box Challenge with Eversfield Organics
In the spirit of Zero Waste Week, we decided to challenge ourselves to create a delicious, family meal using every ingredient in an organic grocery box. Many people sign up to organic box schemes because it is an easy, convenient way to enjoy seasonal, organic produce but also because it reduces food packaging. We discovered that many people are put off the concept because they feel like they might not use all of the ingredients - resulting in greater food waste. By creating a meal that used every ingredient in a box, we'd be able to show that with a little imagination you can make good use of everything that you are sent.
Eversfield Organic joined us in our challenge and sent us through a box of produce. We knew we were getting a meat item, a fish item, a variety of vegetables and some store cupboard essentials, but had no idea what to expect until we opened the box.

      Hi Miguel. The Incubator works best with full-fat UHT milk. Some people have been known to enjoy success with coconut cream and soy milk (Progurt recommend the Bonsoy brand), although it is not as consistent. Generally nut milks will not work as the beneficial probiotic bacteria will not replicate and ferment within them. Progurt yogurt will stay fresh for up to 14 days, however it is best consumed within 7 days of its incubation in order to receive maximum benefits from the probiotic bacteria. Thanks.

    So happy I found your channel. I was wondering can I use any type of plant milk to make yogurt in the Progurt Yoghurt Incubator? Can I use organic full fat canned coconut milk?? I am a vegan and don't anything from animals :) :) Best decision of my life!! Can you pretty please help me???

    Do you need the incubator to use Progurt? My health got so bad that I now live on the street for financial and various environmental reasons. I’m really not digesting my Food and when I do my bossy usually flares or I get sad, anxious and depressed, instead of happy, full with wellbeing. My ANS doesn’t do any of the normal things it should anymore like regulating my body or breathing in my sleep, which makes me decline faster. Believe it all started with stress, not eating enough or well and my gut dysbiosis and permeability. Want to use this, but don’t think I could raise that much money

    I haven't tried any meds to alleviate my sickness. I preferred some natural ways and found "No to Morning Sickness Tea" my best friend through my pregnancy. It comes with different flavors and I love fruit flavor.

      Hi Nilufar, This smoothie recipe is all about helping mums get the right nutrition while breastfeeding. Weight loss can be a happy side effect of breastfeeding but it's much better to focus on replenishing the nutrients that your body needs after pregnancy, birth and throughout breastfeeding. Your body is amazing! It created your beautiful baby and is sustaining its life. Weight loss can wait. There is far too much pressure on women to lose weight quickly after giving birth. Your baby needs a healthy, cuddly mummy right now - they don't care if you're skinny or not. Babies are pretty brilliant like that!

    How long would this keep in the fridge? Could I keep it in a jug or would it need to be a sealed bottle?

      I would keep it in a sealed bottle, or a covered jug. I'd consume it within 48 hours, but as it is so important to keep your fluids up during pregnancy you could easily get through a batch of this every day.

      Hi there! I have no idea I'm afraid, I'd need to do some maths! I believe that almonds are around 1/5th protein if that helps? These are brimming with nutrients, and delicious too.

    Morning Mamma! Your cake looks delicious, thanks! I see you also practise yoga too. I used to practise so much yoga it was untrue and life was really very sweet for me but then I began to experience bad luck and change in my life a number of years ago now. I began to suffer from some terrible bouts of depression and I didn't know how best to fight them. My diet became very bad and my sleep patterns really suffered also. Now I have started to fight back and I am trying to do as much yoga as I can and eat healthily. I must make changes in my life and try to find some good luck. I would be so deeply touched if you would include me in your thoughts and prayers as I continue to make changes and fight that luck I need. Thank you so much. Michael

      Michael Ball so sorry to hear about your depression. It sounds like you are doing all the right things to combat it. I find exercise to be really useful (cardio gets the endorphins going & yoga calms the mind). A balanced diet can be really helpful too. Personally, if I'm feeling vulnerable I steer away from alcohol as well. Being able to talk about how you feel is also important. You'll be in my thoughts. Keep taking good care of yourself.       Hello! Thanks for watching. The powder is spirulina - a blue-green algae that is packed with nutritional benefits. It is 65% protein and contains all 8 amino acids & plenty of micronutrients, so it's ideal for breastfeeding mums. It's really rich in iron which is so important when you are recovering from childbirth (with my daughter the lochia/postnatal bleeding lasted for 9 weeks!) It also contains 26 times the amount of calcium found in cow's milk & is high in omega 3, 6 & 9s. It's a bit of an acquired taste, but a great way to add a boost of nutrients to smoothies & juices etc. You can even add it to face masks to help with cell regeneration! If you are feeling adventurous it works beautifully in pesto, fritters and cookies too. (I feel another video coming on!) I find a bag lasts for ages. I hope that helps!
